Leather & Lace M.C. Kids Page
Who are Lace kids? Lace Kids can be divided into three different groups: Future Lace :Girls up to Age 12 Teen Lace: Girls aged 13 and up Li'l Brothers: All of our young boys All of these kids are family and friends members of a Lace Sisters. What's
in it for the kids? Kids can find their own newsletter article in Lace Tales. Kids receive a birthday card and Christmas card from their aunts. Our younger members are very excited to get mail from their moms friends. Our future lace girls can buy a top rocker to start their very own lace vest. Our teen lace girls can also earn a rocker. Much like their mothers they have to prove they have what it takes to be a sister to all lace members. Special Kids Event: In 2003 Teen Lace Amanda Flannery started a 6 flags Day. We are planning another get together for August 2004 at 6 Flags New England. This is a day for our lace sisters to bring their families along for a day of fun. Stay tuned for a date and rain date soon. Camping out is available about 45 minutes from the park. Each year an award is given to a deserving Lace Kid. The 2003 Lace Kid of the year was Mckayla Ely. She let her aunts stay for our reunion week as well as for Nationals. She gave up her room for us. She even served as flower girl in her aunt Andi's Lace wedding, even though she had a fever. She sent out her own cards at Christmas time to all her lace cousins. She is very supportive of everything her mom does in Lace. How else can kids get involved? In the past we have had kids help sell raffle tickets. Create and sell their own crafts to help raise money for our children's charities. Assist with the pulling of cards at our Poker Runs. Help their aunts pack and unpack at events. Help sell our support t-shirts and hand out registration materials at events. They often help most by letting their moms attend events. For instance Joey Marchese let his mom leave for Nationals on his birthday without much fuss. He stayed behind so he wouldn't miss school. We are grateful that he gave up his mom to let her meet her sisters! Future kids plans: We are always open to suggestions for kids events. We hope to bring back our coloring contest for motorcycle awareness. We would love to get our older members linked on line so they can chat and get to know each other. We are also looking into having a design made for the kids to have their own support shirts.
